Used in a variety of ways in manufacture of prosthetic and orthotics devices. They can be used as a wick underneath latex, lamination bags and thermoplastics to help remove air. They can help give a smooth finish to the inside of plastic. Coloured stockings can be used as part of laminations e.g. underneath black Carbon to ensure a better finish and no white showing when not using pigments.
