Often used to apply pressure and support sprains, it can also be used at part of the casting process if casting socks are not suitable. Can either be sewn or twisted back on itself over a residual limb. Clinicians can mark stockinette in the same way.
Can also be used as a wick in the same way as stockings and stockinette. Commonly also used as a reinforcing layer on the inside of cosmetic foams.
